Proud night for health staff
The credit union was delighted to support the annual NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Chairman''s Awards ceremony held recently in the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The Celebrating Success Award’s Dinner is a chance to recognise some of the most outstanding examples of NHS staff performance during the year.
As one of the event sponsors, NHS Credit Union Chief Executive Officer Robert Kelly was given the task of handing over two awards on the night.
He presented the nursing team at Ward 11D of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with a special award to acknowledge their superb response to a large, early-morning blaze. Despite being faced with immense danger, the staff acted with professionalism and their response was superb. They clearly knew their drill which ensured that no patients or staff came to harm.
The other award - for Patient Centred Care - was won by Tom Chalmers, who has demonstrated that someone who has used our services can make a significant contribution to the quality of mental health services. Tom challenges stigma associated with mental health and has been a very positive role model for clients by sharing some of his own recovery journey which led to employment in the NHS.
Tom was unable to attend the event so Katrina Phillips, Head of Mental Health and Addictions at Renfrewshire HSCP collected the award on his behalf.
